Members of the Eagle Patrol of the Air Force that flew over Plaza del Obradoiro on Sunday, July 25, held a meeting with aviation enthusiasts on the 23rd, convened by Jael Jewelry<\/strong> and Breitling ,<\/strong> at the Royal Aeroclub of Compostela.
\nThe event was attended by all the patrol pilots, with Colonel Pedro D\u00edaz<\/strong> in charge, as well as Chema Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong> , director of Jael Jewelry, and Mar\u00eda Blanco<\/strong> , from the watch brand’s Marketing department. On behalf of Jael Jewelry, Tachi Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong> , from Santiago, and Tono Caravel<\/strong> , director in A Coru\u00f1a, were also present.
\nThe Patrol traveled to Santiago to participate in the commemorative events of the day of the Apostle, when Compostela residents and visitors were able to enjoy the acrobatic flight and different types of formation of the 7 aircraft that make it up. The unit, made up of a chief, 7 regular pilots and reserve pilots, uses C-101 aircraft that entered service in Spain 40 years ago. Perform aerobatics and paint the skies with the colors of the Spanish flag to commemorate important events throughout the territory.
\nShortly after their arrival at the Rosal\u00eda de Castro Airport, members of the Patrol went to the facilities of the Real Aeroclub de Santiago to participate in an informal meeting with a group of aviation enthusiasts convened by Jael Jewelry, a distributor in Santiago and A Coru\u00f1a. Breitling, a Swiss watch brand closely linked to this unit of the Spanish Army. To ensure compliance with the capacity and protection measures against covid-19, a restricted number of guests participated in the meeting with prior confirmation of attendance.
\nThe prestigious Swiss watch brand has been collaborating closely with the Eagle Patrol for 28 years, an alliance that it also maintains with other European military patrols such as the Frecce Tricolori<\/em> in Italy, the Patrouille de France<\/em> in France or the Patrouille Suisse<\/em> in Switzerland. No other brand has as enduring a connection to aviation as Breitling. Already in the 1930s and 1940s Breitling supplied on-board clocks and other devices for aircraft. In the 1960s and 1970s, some of the most prestigious international airlines continued to entrust their on-board watches to Breitling, which has also participated in the space race, such as the mission of the Project Mercury<\/em> of May 24, 1962, when astronaut Scott Carpenter took the first Swiss wrist chronograph into space.<\/p>\n
